Programs
At the Team Armstead Community Center, our programs are grounded in our six core values: Leadership, Education, Mentorship, Community, Integrity, and Empowerment. Every program we offer is designed to create safe, supportive spaces where young people and families can learn, grow, and thrive.
School & Youth Development
Our after-school and youth development programs provide academic enrichment and structured activities that keep young people engaged, inspired, and on a positive path. We offer literacy and financial literacy instruction, reading clubs, Chess club, pen-pal exchanges, conflict resolution workshops, and more. These programs serve youth across Cahokia Heights, East St. Louis, Belleville, and the surrounding communities, giving them the tools they need to succeed in school and in life.
Mentorship
Positive mentorship is a vital influence in a young person’s life. One mentor can change a child’s future, offer emotional consistency, and serve as a strong example of what’s achievable. Today’s youth face pressures and challenges that can leave them feeling overwhelmed or unsupported. Our mentorship programs bridge that gap by providing:
- Consistent guidance during formative years
- Encouragement that builds confidence and self-worth
- Accountability and structure
- Exposure to new goals, careers, and positive life choices
- Support in developing decision-making skills and integrity
Our mentorship programs aim to make sure each young person has someone who believes in them, pushes them, and demonstrates the values we want them to carry into adulthood.
Summer Camp
BGG Gaming HUB - Esports & Gaming (Coming Soon)
In partnership with the BGG Foundation, the Team Armstead Community Center will be home to the BGG Gaming HUB – a dedicated Esports PC and Console Gaming space. The HUB will host structured programs, tournaments, streaming, and free-play gaming for youth in the community. This partnership reflects our commitment to meeting young people where they are and creating safe, engaging spaces that channel their interests into skill-building and opportunity.
